Madam President Camp is a week-long day camp for girls ages 11 to 13 in a supportive environment where they can learn and practice leadership skills. Camp has five themes: Leadership, Civic Education, Activism, Communication, and Self-Discovery. Campers work in small groups to identify an area of civic engagement, develop a plan for activism, and present that plan. On leadership day, Campers discover what it means to be a leader. The civic engagement day provides key civic definitions and awareness of current events, and explores civic engagement. The activism day examines current events that are relevant to this age group. The communication day explores communication styles and modalities. Campers learn to advocate confidently, present their ideas, and find their communication style. The self-discovery day recognizes that leadership is for everyone. Through activities and self-exploration tools, Campers determine their leadership style and how they will make a difference after camp. Please note that the camp will be at the following locations and that the Johnson County Community College Camp is not covered by KEEP. June 10-13, 2024Harry S.
