Educational Value

At Tanganyika we have summer, Thanksgiving, winter, and spring break camps for children between the ages of 6 to 12. Our summer, winter, and spring break camps are Monday through Friday from 7:45 am to 5:30 pm and each week has a different animal-based theme. Our Thanksgiving camp is for three days over the holiday break. It is also from 7:45 am to 5:30 pm and have different themes. During camp they participate in games, crafts, and STEM activities that help drive the theme of the day. The themes are based on animal species we have in the park. They also get to interact with our animals through meet and greets, behind the scenes experiences, and assisting keepers in task. We have up to 28 campers for each camp. They are broken into age-appropriate pod groups and rotate through the activities for the day.
