Educational Value

Shine Literacy Lab is run by the owner Brandi Schroeder. She holds a Master's of Education as a Reading Specialist. Mrs. Schroeder has had training through LETRS and the Philips Fundamental Learning Center where she is currently a therapist in training. She offers services for reading intervention and dyslexia therapy. We implement an Orton Gillingham approach to learning reading, making the experience play based. The curriculum utilized comes from the Scottish Rite for Children - Take Flight. The lessons are designed to enable students with dyslexia to achieve and maintain better word recognition, reading fluency, reading comprehension and aid in the transition from a therapy setting to ‘real world’ learning. We are advocates for Multi-Sensory Learning!
