Educational Value

The Independent School of Wichita Kansas offers its students an after-school program that is designed to academically engage students beyond the regular school day and outside of the regular classroom setting. Teachers run the class offerings and the curriculum is structured to have goals and objectives for mastery. Time is devoted within all the offerings to make sure that each participant is current on their regular work with specific help given if needed. For actual homework help on a regular basis, teachers at all school levels are available to give direct instructions and to aid students in completing their assignments correctly and in a timely fashion. This is the charge of the HW Club offerings; other offerings such as music, art and science are grade level appropriate and offer foundational recursive teaching along with the opportunity for students to take a deeper dive into a subject of personal interest thus expanding the lesson beyond the basic classroom.
