Educational Value
Roger Pitts provides private online instruction for GUITAR and KEYBOARD instruments. Guitar instruction consists of learning acoustic and/or electric styles, using both pick and finger-picking techniques. Anything from classical and jazz guitar, to blues, country and rock. Keyboard instruction consists of learning the difference between piano and organ/synthesizer technique, classical styles vs. jazz, blues, rock, country, and popular music. For both instruments, the first half of the lesson focuses on the music aspects, technique, music theory, ear-training and sight-reading; and the second half focuses on the songs and styles the student wants to learn. Whether it's classical, jazz, rock, blues, country, etc. Students realize pretty quickly that the better they are prepared for the first half of the lesson . . . the more time there is at the end to work on whatever song they want!
